Please note, our telephone lines are closed between the following times:
– Monday, Thursday and Friday, 12:30pm to 1:30pm
– Tuesday and Wednesday, 12pm to 2pm

From 6pm to 6.30pm calls will be redirected to NHS 111.

Please follow Out of Hours instructions on the answer machine message if you need a doctor urgently during these times.
The practice aims to provide a high quality service that is easily accessible to all patients. We have a hearing loop and provide interpreter services.

All the medical centre doors are wide enough to admit wheelchairs and there are disabled toilets available. Please ask someone to call a member of staff to help if you have difficulty.

There are disabled spaces provided in the car park and a wheelchair is kept in the surgery should this be required.
Picton Medical Centre uses Local Care Direct who cover some of our Out of Hours services, however they do not work from our building. Therefore patients must ring the surgery on 01274 019605 in the first instance when they will be given information of who to ring in an emergency.

Patients must follow the out of hours arrangements as given on the above number. They will be told where to contact a doctor in an emergency.

111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
In addition to our Extended Hours, this surgery is part of the PCN Extended Access, a group of practices in the local area that work together to provide evening and weekend appointments.

You must be registered with a member practice, such as this one to access these services.

The practice is part of PCN4 meaning our patients have access to GP led services (this will not be your usual GP) via the Extended Hours Hubs.

This excludes:
– Long-term, ongoing conditions, for example diabetes
– Referrals to hospitals and other services
– Investigations including blood test, x-rays, scans
– Repeat prescriptions

Appointments available on evening and weekends.
